Stakeholder engagement of beef farmers clusters in good animal husbandry practices in Niger state

The Beef value chain is one of the pillars of the Nigerian economy. The various nodes and operations engage and provide livelihood to millions of people on sustainable basis. The potential promises have not been fully delivered due to the various gaps and challenges of the value chain. Efforts targeted at enhancement of skills, production, feeding, skills, packaging, traceability, risk reduction and marketing strategies shall go a long way to promote the value chain. The exercise proposes to address the various gaps and challenges of the value chain.
In order to promote wholesome meat products as well as enhance hygiene status in Nigeria. The Department of Animal Husbandry Services, FMARD support 50 selected beef processors with Agro chillers and weighing scale across the country.
