The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) organized a day training for 50 dairy farmers on good dairy farming practices and milk hygiene on 8th, 10th , 13th and 15th November 2021 in Almajiri School, Behind LGA Secretariat, Hunkuyi, Kudan LGA, Kaduna State, Km 5, Kano – Katsina Road Behind Asibitin Tafasa JangoroDawanu, Dawakin Tofa LGA, Kano State, Daura Youth Centre, opposite Eid praying ground, Daura, Daura LGA Katsina, and  Taraba town hall, Taraba State respectively.

The objective of the training was to provide practical training on all aspect of good dairy practices to facilitate the transformation from traditional system of cattle management into smallholder dairy farming at cooperative level.

Several presentations were made by the resource person in the following topics:

  • Strengthening a dairy cooperative society
  • Dairy Cow Nutrition
  • Milk collection
  • Good Dairy Practices

The dairy farmers applauded the efforts of FMARD in sensitizing them on improved techniques in milk hygiene and promised to supply raw milk to the Milk Collection Centre within their communities for off take by processors.
